Launch Of Rugby Union Performance Centre

We are looking forward to launching our PV Rugby Union Performance Centre in partnership with current Rugby Union lead Matt Tucker & Girls rugby lead Yonela Madikizela.

The PV Rugby Union Performance Centre is open to all Rugby players (aimed at boys U13, U14 & U15 and girls U12, U14 & U16) and is a foundational skills pathway ahead of county and PDG setups.

Head Coach, Matt Tucker said “I’m passionate about growing rugby in the North East. To do so by supplementing the weekly training of club players, with some foundational skills sessions is great for any young aspiring player. We won’t promise success past the performance centre as that’s up to the player’s work ethic. However, we can provide the best tools to aid in a child’s performance. Hopefully, coaches can see how this could benefit their players and senior setups in the future.”

Girls Rugby Lead, Yonela Madikizela said “From my experience coaching at county and PDG level, core skills for young aspiring girls need a boost in the North East. I believe a performance centre like this greatly benefits the women’s and girls’ games in Durham and Northumberland County. I look forward to hopefully passing on my knowledge and skills, to the future of women’s rugby in the North East.”
