Cancellation Policy

PARK VIEW ACADEMY OF SPORT – MULTI-SPORT CAMP POLICY Introduction Our Multi-Sports Camp is designed for children in Year 1 to Year 7, promoting physical activity, teamwork, and fun. The policy outlines safety measures, staff responsibilities, and participant expectations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. 1. Safeguarding and Child Protection The camp follows Durham County Council safeguarding guidelines. Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Lewis Pendleton. All staff are DBS-checked and trained in safeguarding. Emergency contacts and medical details are collected before attendance. 2. Health and Safety Emergency First Aiders: Lewis Black and Gary Neasham. Emergency Procedure: Call 999 in serious incidents. First aid kits available at all venues. All sessions supervised by qualified coaches. 3. Transport Students are transported from Park View School (DH3 3QA) to The Riverside for sports sessions. Transport adheres to Park View School’s minibus risk assessment policy. 4. Activities and Risk Management Football (Riverside 3G): Warm-ups and appropriate footwear required; pitch inspected before sessions. Cricket (Durham Cricket Nets): Protective equipment mandatory; netting regularly checked. Rugby (Riverside Rugby Field): Tackling drills supervised; gum shields required. Athletics (Athletics Track): Warm-ups required; track inspected before use. Gym Sessions (Park View Performance Gym): Equipment use supervised by qualified staff; proper technique encouraged. 5. Participant Conduct Clear behaviour guidelines set; participants expected to show respect to staff and peers. Disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the camp. 6. Emergency Procedures Emergency contact details are accessible to staff. Staff to follow The Riverside’s evacuation protocols. 7. Review and Monitoring The policy will be reviewed before each camp term. Staff feedback will inform improvements to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants.
